Tulsa Public Schools is currently in the process of upgrading to a new student information management system – Power School.  TPS has been using the current mainframe system for more than 20 years, so this update is definitely needed and long overdue! This past summer, TPS began transferring student data from the mainframe to Power School, which has been a lengthy and involved process.
    With the addition of Power School, we also have Power Teacher, a grade book system for teachers similar to last year’s Grade Speed, but with more capabilities.  There will also be a parent portal available; however parents will not have access until all system upgrading is complete.  Because there are over 40,000 students in the district, this access may take awhile.  While this is a little inconvenient right now, we have to recognize the need for this renovation and be patient while the upgrading and change over occurs.
